Planning Guide: Save the Dates & Invitations

In most scenarios, Saves the Dates are sent out 4-6 months before the wedding. If you are having a destination wedding, Save the Dates and information about the wedding can be sent out as early as 8-12 months prior, depending on the extent of travel and accommodations needed. Before sending Save the Dates, we recommend having your Wedding Website up to date with general information including the estimated start time and the location(s) of your events and suggested hotels in the area.

Typically, invitations are send out 6-8 weeks before the wedding date. We recommend giving guests no longer than three weeks to RSVP. Don't forget to allow you and your partner about one week before your guest count is due to the caterer to track down any non-responders.

For weddings with most guests coming from out of town, you can send your invitations out as early as three months. If you send your invitations out early, we recommend planning to also send an RSVP reminder card one month before your guest count is due.

Don't forget to bring an extra set on wedding day for a photo!
